Scott
Harlan - Managing Partner
Mr. Harlan is the Managing Partner and a founding member of Rockland Capital and is on the firm's Investment Committee. He is responsible for deal origination and for the overall management, strategy and operations of Rockland Capital. Mr. Harlan has served on the board of most of Rockland's portfolio companies.
Mr. Harlan has thirty years of experience in all aspects (M&A, commercial, technical and operational ) of the electric power business. Prior to founding Rockland, he focused on the independent power acquisition and restructuring business. He acted as commercial lead for several successful power asset transactions at Cinergy Capital & Trading and El Paso Merchant Energy. While at El Paso, Mr. Harlan also acted as commercial lead on the acquisition and financings of commodity derivative agreements, managed a portfolio of debt and preferred equity investments in energy ventures and served on the board of Electric City Corporation. Earlier, Mr. Harlan was involved in the early stages of building a power marketing and trading business for Koch Industries and has over ten years of electric power marketing and power plant engineering experience with Delmarva Power.
Mr. Harlan holds an MBA from the University of Delaware and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Michael Del Giudice - Partner
Mr. Del Giudice
is the Chairman of Rockland Capital Management
and is on the Investment Committee. He was
a founding member of Rockland Capital in
2003 and has been its Chairman since inception.
Mr. Del Giudice's role is to assist in shaping
the company's strategic business goals,
source acquisition and investment opportunities
using his many connections in the energy
and financial sectors, and to manage regulatory
and political issues for Rockland and its
portfolio companies.
Mr. Del Giudice combines a twenty-year career
in senior government positions with a subsequent
twenty years in investment banking and private
equity. He currently serves on the boards
of various companies including Consolidated Edison
Inc. as lead director and formerly of Barnes & Noble,
Inc. He is the former Chairman of Orange
& Rockland Utilities Corp., a New York based
electric and gas utility company, and led
its effort to merge with Consolidated Edison
in 1999. Mr. Del Giudice also previously
served as a General Partner at Lazard Frères
& Co., Chief of Staff to New York Governor
Mario M. Cuomo and deputy Chief of Staff
to New York Governor Hugh L. Carey.
Mr. Del Giudice graduated from the City
College of New York (BBA 1960) and completed
graduate studies at New York University.
Joseph Lambert - Partner
Mr. Lambert was
a founding member of Rockland Capital in
2003, has been its Vice President since inception
and is on Rockland's Investment Committee.
He is located in Rockland's New York office
and is responsible for sourcing acquisitions
and for coordinating the legal affairs of
Rockland and its portfolio companies.
Mr. Lambert brings a private equity career
spanning 40 years with investment experience
in both the real estate and electric power
industries. Prior to joining Rockland, Mr.
Lambert developed the 1,000 MW gas-fired power
plant in Astoria (Queens), New York and
he restructured the Project Orange plant
with a debt financing and a monetization
of the power sales and gas supply agreements.
Previously, Mr. Lambert was Chairman of
Interactive Properties Corp. for 25 years,
during which his career encompassed virtually
every aspect of real estate including ownership
of major commercial properties, real estate
financing, acquisitions, sales and sale-leasebacks.
Mr. Lambert attended Columbia
University.
Shane Litts - Partner
Mr. Litts has
been a lead investment professional with
Rockland Capital since its inception and
is on the Investment Committee. His responsibilities
at Rockland include business development
and deal structuring and he has been deeply
involved in the commercial management and
disposition of many of Rockland's portfolio
assets.
Mr. Litts has worked in the power industry
since 1998 and has led due diligence and
commercial negotiations on many transactions.
Prior to Rockland, he focused on acquisitions,
divestitures and restructurings of independent
power projects at El Paso Merchant Energy
and had previously worked on independent
power project restructuring transactions
at Cinergy Capital. Earlier, Mr. Litts spent
five years in the financial services industry.
Mr. Litts is a CFA charterholder and has
a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance
both from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jim
Maiz - Partner
Mr. Maiz has
been a lead investment professional with
Rockland Capital since early 2003 and is
on the Investment Committee. He is responsible
for the origination, evaluation and closing
of Rockland acquisitions and has taken the
lead on the commercial management of several
Rockland portfolio companies.
Mr. Maiz has over fifteen years of experience,
both technical and commercial, in the domestic
energy industry. Prior to joining Rockland,
his focus was on executing acquisitions, restructurings
and divestitures of independent power projects
at El Paso Merchant Energy, where he led
and supported several successful transactions.
Prior to El Paso, Mr. Maiz spent eight years
with the Royal Dutch/Shell group of companies.
The commercial roles he held included both
power plant development at Coral Energy
and the acquisition and development of domestic
natural gas properties at Shell Exploration
and Production Company.
Mr. Maiz holds an MBA from Tulane University
and a BS in Engineering from the University
of South Florida.
Dave
Yeager - Partner
Mr. Yeager was
a founding member of Rockland Capital in
2003 and is on the firm's Investment Committee.
His primary responsibilities include business
origination, structuring and financing of
Rockland projects. Mr. Yeager has been deeply
involved in the management of several of
Rockland's portfolio companies.
Mr. Yeager has twenty years of experience,
from both a commercial and banking perspective,
in the domestic and international power
business. Prior to joining Rockland, Mr.
Yeager worked in the independent power project
acquisition and restructuring business.
He was one of three founders of Cinergy
Capital & Trading and later as commercial
lead for several successful acquisitions
and restructurings of projects at El Paso
Merchant Energy. In addition, he managed
El Paso's European power asset group, where
he brought the restructuring model to the
European IPP sector. Earlier, Mr. Yeager
worked in both the Project Finance and Interest
Rate Derivatives Groups at TD Securities
in New York.
Mr. Yeager is a CFA charterholder and holds
a BS from Rutgers University and an MBA
from Duke University.
Will
Zapalac - Principal
Mr. Zapalac has
been an investment professional with Rockland
Capital since 2003. His primary responsibilities at Rockland include origination, evaluation and structuring of investments. Mr. Zapalac also plays a key role in the
management of the commercial affairs of
Rockland's portfolio companies.
Mr. Zapalac has over seven years of experience
in the energy industry. Before Rockland,
he was involved in acquisitions, restructurings
and divestitures of independent power projects
at El Paso Merchant Energy. During his time
at El Paso, Mr. Zapalac was involved in
transaction due diligence, structuring,
negotiations and valuation. Previously,
he worked as an engineer in the oil field
services industry.
Mr. Zapalac received a BS in Engineering
and an MBA in Finance both from the University
of Texas at Austin.
Carla Banks - Vice President
Ms. Banks began working with the Rockland team in 2010. Her key responsibilities include commercial management of Rockland's projects and due diligence and asset valuation of Rockland's acquisitions.
Ms. Banks has over ten years of energy industry experience. Prior to joining Rockland, she focused on commercial development, forecasting, asset valuation, and strategic analysis at Complete Energy Holdings. Ms. Banks worked for five years at Dynegy, Inc., where she developed forecast and valuation models and detailed market trend analyses of potential M&A opportunities for the board of directors and executive management team. In addition, she managed personnel that supported asset management, investor relations, risk management and energy trading.
Ms. Banks holds a MA and PhD in physics from Rice University and a BS in physics with a concentration in mathematics from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN.
Robert Rapenske - Vice President
Mr. Rapenske
began working with the Rockland team in
January 2004. During his first two years,
he was a plant manager at Prime Energy,
and was instrumental in the restructuring
of the project. Since then, he has been
an asset manager for Rockland, providing
oversight and direction to Rockland facilities.
Mr. Rapenske has 25 years of experience
in the power generation market that includes
plant management, operations and maintenance
management, asset management, technical
training and program development, and plant
assessments. His experience spans oil- and
gas-fired simple and combined cycle facilities,
coal-fired steam plants and nuclear plants.
Mr. Rapenske has broad experience in project
ownership transitions, having transitioned
and managed projects for Tenaska Power Fund,
LS Power, Aquila, GPUI and Rockland Capital.
Mr. Rapenske is a graduate of the Navy Nuclear
Program, with service in the submarine fleet
as well as experience as a lead instructor
for the GE Trident Design School.
Rick Woryk - Vice President
Mr. Woryk joined Rockland Capital in 2011. He oversees the firm's asset management and plant operations activities and is involved in the technical due diligence efforts for Rockland acquisitions.
Mr. Woryk has 28 years of experience in the power arena. Prior to joining Rockland his experience includes positions as VP of Operations for both International Power and for Globeleq. Over his career he has also held the roles of General Manager, Plant Manager, O&M Manager, Project Engineer, and Engineer. Mr. Woryk's background includes engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, EH&S, finance, development, asset management, and corporate governance. He has worked both domestically and abroad.
Mr. Woryk has an MBA from Wilmington University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State).
Cameron Baynard - Associate
Mr. Baynard joined Rockland Capital in January 2011. His primary responsibilities include evaluation and analysis of investment transactions.
Previously, Mr. Baynard was an analyst with Wells Fargo Securities, where he focused primarily on M&A and financing transactions in the power and utilities industries.
Mr. Baynard holds a BBA in Finance, a BS in Economics, and a BA in Public Policy from Southern Methodist University.
Austin Peterson - Associate
Mr. Peterson joined Rockland Capital in 2010. His primary responsibilities include evaluation and analysis of investment transactions.
Previously, Mr. Peterson worked for two years as an analyst for UBS Investment Bank. There he focused primarily on M&A and financing transactions in a variety of industries.
Mr. Peterson holds a BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
Jared Reyes - Associate
Mr. Reyes joined Rockland Capital in 2011. His primary responsibilities include evaluation and analysis of investment transactions.
Previously, Mr. Reyes worked as an analyst for Jefferies & Company in their Recapitalization and Restructuring group. Prior to Jefferies, he was an Analyst with Scotia Waterous where he worked on oil and gas M&A transactions.
Mr. Reyes holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Terry E. Everett - Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Everett is Rockland’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the financial management and administration of Rockland, its funds and portfolio companies. Ms. Everett also serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.
Ms. Everett has worked in the private equity industry since 2003, serving as the Vice President of Finance for Perseus, L.L.C., a Washington D.C. based merchant bank and private equity fund manager with more than $1.6 billion in committed capital across seven funds, as well as four and a half years with The Carlyle Group where she oversaw the financial management, operations, and investor reporting for 62 global private equity fund entities. Prior to joining Carlyle, Ms. Everett spent several years in the Corporate Financial Reporting department for Salt River Project (“SRP”), the nation’s third largest public power utility with more than $7.4 billion in power generation assets. While at SRP, Ms. Everett was involved in the preparation of the company’s audited financial statements, business-unit management financial reporting, and activity-based cost accounting. Ms. Everett was also previously a Senior Analyst with Arthur Andersen, LLP.
Ms. Everett received a BS from the University of North Carolina and an MS in Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California.
Joyce Tang - Controller
Ms. Tang has been Rockland's Controller since its inception in early 2003. She is responsible for preparing financial statements for Rockland and its portfolio companies, coordinating state and federal tax preparation and general administration and office management.
Ms. Tang has over 23 years of accounting experience, all in the funds investment industry, including private equity funds, hedge funds, and public funds, including over 8 years of experience in funds investing in the electric power industry. Ms. Tang's prior positions include various accounting roles at American General Life Insurance Company and Hambro America, Inc.
Ms. Tang has a BBA degree in Public Accounting from Pace University.
