Tradewinds is a biomass supply and cogeneration development project located on the Big Island of Hawaii. The company was formed to serve Hawaii's aggressive renewable portfolio mandates and the state's nascent forestry products industry. Tradewinds controls roughly 19,000 acres of timber on the island and owns a thirty-one acre industrial site on the Hamakua coast.
